“50/50”

Notes:

We see organisations promoting the protection of 30% of the oceans - maybe the same for land. We say that’s not ambitious enough - and we are not alone. This poem was written to promote the consciousness of the need for #earthsharing, as proposed above - and as a model for our own giving back to the Earth from the proceeds of the Fine Art Prints we sell in The One Million Poetry shop. Fifty percent will go to the artists involved, the other fifty will go to local, national and global organisations that are working on the ground to protect the existing biodiversity, restoring ecosystems, conservation/protection and rescue of wildlife, and the purchase of land in support of these critically important endeavours.

We will donate to organisations that we personally know and collaborate with, leaning towards those that don’t have fundraising departments - to make a bigger difference with the likely smaller contributions from the Art of the ‘Wildly Creatives’.

This concept was partially inspired by this project: Half-Earth - OK, maybe 50%!
